He had read somewhere — probably in Harper’s — that there were companies that specialized in cleaning up crime scenes. They never show that part on TV, but the cops don’t do that. Once they’re done poking around and taking pictures and whatnot, it is your problem after that.
I don’t know how you find these companies. I have never seen anything under “Crime Scene Cleaners” in the Yellow Pages, I know that. Maybe it’s more of a big city thing, I guess. Been nice to know sixteen years ago; would’ve saved Aunt Maribelle the ordeal of scrubbing what was left of Jerry off the bathroom walls and ceiling.
