About

Aldean B. Hendrickson is a proud graduate of the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Philosophy. Intending a quick hop directly into some sort of graduate school, the lack of specificity to this intention led him to wander aimlessly through life for half a decade or so. Now, with a supportive mate and a growing family, he is finally getting his writerly feet beneath him, and has his eyes fixed on a definite future.

For years responsible for the unforgettable ‘zine The Floating Egg, Aldean is now intent on honing his craft, humbly admitting that — despite youthful hubristic proclamations to the contrary — writing is real work, hard work, and definitely benefits from pedagogy. He was a Finalist in the 2008 and 2009 Loft Mentor Series competitions in the Nonfiction category, and was privileged to be a part of the graduate Creative Nonfiction Workshop with Richard Terrill at Minnesota State, Mankato in the spring of 2009.

He currently lives in Ottawa, Ontario and New Ulm, Minnesota.
